Scottsdale Universal Design Master Bathroom Remodel for Senior Couple

The 70-something couple wanted to remodel their Master Bathroom to enlarge the shower and upgrade the builder-grade finishes. A light, bright, contemporary look was there goal. We designed an ADA-compliant bathroom floor plan with a larger, curbless shower, and larger water closets, within the footprint. A light, bright, spacious, upscale, stunning contemporary master bathroom is the result of this remodeled ͞builder vanilla͟ space. The couple loves their new master bathroom.

Scottsdale Aging in Place Remodel & Dementia-Supportive Design for Homeowner & Sister-In-Law

New living quarters were created so the homeowner’s sister-in-law could move in. Both ladies, in their 90s and Holocaust survivors living with dementia, were excited about being able to live together, along with their caregivers. An ADA-compliant first-floor floor plan was designed for a new master suite complete with an accessible toilet and curbless shower, accessible custom vanity and wardrobe closet, wide hallways, a powder room in the main living area, and a level living room (previously sunken) to help prevent falls. Beautiful senior-friendly materials, fixtures and finishes were installed, and dementia-supportive interior design techniques were also incorporated.

Assisted Living Community Apartment Designed for Resident’s Needs

The client needed to move into a senior living community, downsizing from his single-family home into a 385-square foot assisted living studio apartment. In less than three weeks we designed a vibrant, uplifting ADA-compliant space that incorporated existing and new furnishings and was designed to make daily activities easier, given the client’s visual impairment from macular degeneration, arthritis and need for a walker. We infused the apartment with his favorite colors and interests – nature, birds, animals and music.

The homeowner was ready for a change since her bathroom hadn’t been renovated since it was built 25 years ago. She wanted a beautiful bathroom. To ensure she would be able to remain in her home as long as possible, and to increase its market value, we created and ADA-compliant floor plan and custom-designed the vanities to accommodate mobility devices. Beautiful materials, finishes and fixtures that also help prevent falls and make the space safer were incorporated in the design. The client says she is excited to use her new bathroom every day.

Fountain Hills Aging in Place Remodel for Baby Boomer

The 50-something client desired a new contemporary look and fireplace, and a better furniture arrangement for her Great Room and Master Bedroom that would provide aesthetic beauty and proactively be ready for successful aging. Our remodel design plan included a custom-designed fireplace and wall, elimination of southwest interior architecture details, an ADA-compliant furniture plan, new furniture, lighting, window and wall treatment, artwork and accessories. The client is thrilled with her new living and sleep spaces.

Fountain Hills Senior’s Bucket List Family Room Renovation

On the 90-year old homeowner’s bucket list was a new Family Room fireplace. We were asked to design a new one along with a plan for the whole room. We designed the room to meet the client’s specific needs to make her daily activities easier, safer and more enjoyable. The client loves her renovated Family Room’s fireplace and surround, new senior-friendly furniture and arrangement, color palette, lighting, artwork, and larger TV.

Chandler Aging in Place Remodel & Memory Care Design for Father’s New In-Law Suite

When the homeowner needed a private, wheelchair-accessible living space in their new home, we were asked to design one that was beautiful yet masculine for her father who was living with Alzheimer’s disease and uses a wheelchair. Within the footprint of the home, we designed an ADA-compliant In-Law Suite that provides accessibility, senior-friendly finishes, materials and fixtures that make daily activities safer and easier for he and his caregivers. It also incorporates memory care design techniques to eliminate sources of dementia-related confusion and provide visual orientation assistance.
